You lift my head!

Jeremiah 52.31 to 34 - And in the thirty-seventh year after Jehoiachin, king of Judah, had been taken prisoner, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-fifth day of the month, Evil-merodach, king of Babylon, in the first year after he became king, took Jehoiachin, king of Judah, out of prison. And he said kind words to him and put his seat higher than the seats of the other kings who were with him in Babylon. And his prison clothing was changed, and he was a guest at the king's table every day for the rest of his life. And for his food, the king gave him a regular amount every day till the day of his death, for the rest of his life.

Today, I would like us to take the time to meditate on this oh-so wonderful and prophetic scripture passage for us. Jojakim was in captivity. Why ? We are told in 2 Chronicles 36: 9: "Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem. He did evil in the sight of the Lord. This is the reason for his captivity. He did evil in the sight of the LORD.

The first thing is that many of God's people are in captivity today. We could say that it was the enemy who put them in it but why? because they have done evil in the sight of the LORD. We must stop veiling the face and put everything on the back of the enemy. It is high time to acknowledge our mistakes and say, "Lord, I did what is wrong with you." Jojakin was king. Yes, indeed, he was king over his own life, he made his decisions and they pushed him to do evil. Are we not so sometimes?

Then this text talks about the king of Babylon. I believe that the Lord wants to speak to many today through this. The king of Babylon was the one who had all authority. We know that our King, the King of Kings, has all authority and He does what He wants and when He wants.

The Word of God tells us lamentations 3.22 and 23: "It is through the Lord's love that we have not come to destruction, because his mercies have no limit. They are new every morning; great is your good faith". Yes, God is faithful, even if we are unfaithful. He remains faithful and his kindness is not exhausted. Today, He wants to show his kindness to you and lift your head. Maybe it's been a long time since you've been tied and your head down, but today is a new day. God will raise your head. In raising this one, God will give you another vision of all that surrounds you. What a wonderful God!

Then the king puts the throne of Jojakin above the other kings. Yes, when we enjoy the unmerited grace of God, we are sitting with Him in heavenly places. Sitting above all other authorities or evil spirits, washed and purified by the blood of the Lamb: two actions that are different but complementary.

Then the king made him change his clothes. The garment of the curse due to your sin is removed. Alleluia! Finished the clothes of convicts! Instead, a garment of praise, a white garment. If you were recognized everywhere because of the convict garment that you wore today, people will recognize you because of the new dress that you wear (Luke 15.22).

Isaiah 61.10 - I will be full of joy in the Lord, my soul will be glad in my God; for he has put on me the clothing of salvation, covering me with the robe of righteousness, as the husband puts on a fair head-dress, and the bride makes herself beautiful with jewels.

That's what God is going to do for you today.

Then we are told that Jojakin always ate at the king's table all the time of his life. The meal is a moment of intimacy. A convivial moment, a moment of sharing and it is at such a meal that the Lord will invite you day after day. You will eat the king's food. The Bread of Life Jesus Himself.

Isaiah 55.2 - Why do you give your money for what is not bread, and the fruit of your work for what will not give you pleasure? Give ear to me, so that your food may be good, and you may have the best in full measure.

Yes, every day, this is what is reserved for you, a table in front of your opponents and succulent dishes at your disposal. The Word of God, the cool manna of every day that comes down from heaven.

We are also told that every day, all the time of his life, the king constantly provided for his daily maintenance. Yes, every day the Lord will take care of you, every day of your life. He will walk by your side, carry you when things go wrong, direct you, fill you up.

Oh, how moved I am in sharing you all this. As I look forward to what will happen in your life. Today is a glorious day, the King of glory is entering your life and as a song says: "You, Lord, You cover me with a shield, You are my glory and You lift my head.

Alleluia!

With all my love.
